About the Artist
Aimee's interest in art began as a child watching her mom paint. Although she graduated
with a B.S. in Business, her formal training in art began at Meredith College. After
graduating, she went to work in the Graphics Arts Industry. During this time, she worked
with a weekly studio group, volunteered with the NC Museum of Art and continued her studies
through various workshops and classes.
In 1993, Aimee discontinued her career to become a full-time wife and mother. During
this time, she took a pastel class from a portrait artist and her love for portraiture
began. She continued her portrait studies through various workshops and participation
in a weekly portrait group. She later went on to teach elementary art and found her
students to be a great source of inspiration. Aimee now has a studio at home and works
exclusively in pastel portraiture. She continues to participate in a weekly portrait
group and is a member of the Fine Arts League of Cary and The Portrait Society Of America. Her work can be seen in various
shows throughout the triangle area.
People fascinate me and being a portrait artist is pure joy! I am amazed at
how unique God created each of us. Portraiture is a wonderful way to capture that
uniqueness and celebrate the expressive characteristics of a person that
will be remembered for years and years to come. I am so blessed to be a part of such
a wonderful tradition.
